Meenakshi gave a 3 hour traditional Bharatanatyam performance, which included a 35 minute Varnam performance. The performance was very well received, was attended by over 200 people, and featured a live orchestra lead by her Guru's Smt. Prema Nagasundaram (nattuvangam) and Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan (vocal). To facilitate costume change, Meenakshi's little sister Dhanya Nagasundaram, also performed two Bharatanatyam items totaling about 15 minutes. Top

Meenakshi, as a member of the Asian Pacific Dance Group performed 6 items: Chinese Spring Rain Dance, an Indoneasian dance, a fast Rajastani Holi dance (choreographed by Meenakshi), a Punjabi Gidda dance, a Rajastani Khalbharia dance, and a traditional south Indian folk dance on Goddess Karumariamma (choreographed by Meenakshi). Meenakshi performed a Bharatanatyam padam 'Aadi Kondaar' with intricate footwork and grace, depicting the thandavam of Lord Shiva. Meenakshi's group of kids peformed a Bharatanatyam item Shiva Bhola Bandari depicting the story of Lord Shiva and the demon Bhasmasur. A "mini orchestra" gave the live audio support, as is traditional with Bharatanatyam performances. Meenakshi sang the song and also provided Nattuvangam support. Arvind Ganesan augmented with violin support. Top
